Food sensitivities are adverse reactions to certain foods that may not involve the immune system, but can still cause uncomfortable or unpleasant symptoms. Unlike food allergies, which involve an immune system response and can be life-threatening, food sensitivities typically involve a non-immune system response and are generally less severe.

Symptoms of food sensitivities can vary widely, but may include:

  • Digestive issues such as bloating, gas, diarrhea, or constipation
  • Headaches or migraines
  • Fatigue or brain fog
  • Skin problems such as eczema or acne
  • Joint pain or inflammation
  • Mood changes or irritability

Food sensitivities can be caused by a variety of factors, including:

  • Enzyme deficiencies: Some people may lack certain digestive enzymes needed to break down certain foods, leading to digestive issues.
  • Food additives: Some people may be sensitive to certain food additives such as preservatives or artificial colors and flavors.
  • Food intolerances: Some people may have intolerances to certain foods, such as lactose intolerance or gluten intolerance.
  • Chemical sensitivity: Some people may be sensitive to chemicals that occur naturally in foods, such as histamine or tyramine.

Using Nutritional Kinesiology (NRT exam video), we can identify the foods that you are sensitive to. Once found, you'll need to completely eliminate the food(s) for a minimum of 90 days and use enzyme therapy to remove the food residue from the gut. Depending on the findings, the protocol may need to be adjusted and will be discussed during your visit.
